PRESENTERS
Brett Holland, PE, SEAssociate Principal | Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, Inc.Brett Holland is an Associate Principal with Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, Inc. of Waltham, Massachusetts. Brett has over 15 years of research and industry experience. He specializes in developing and implementing concrete for high-performance applications, concrete placement troubleshooting, specialized durability requirements, and investigating and repairing structures. He has investigated, designed, and rehabilitated a variety of structures, including historic stadiums, mechanically stabilized earth walls, precast concrete, concrete overlays, solid waste transfer facilities, and large bridge and port structures.
Brett is a registered Professional Engineer and Structural Engineer. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Brett is an active member and fellow of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and is the President of the ACI New England Chapter. Brett is also active with the American Shotcrete Association (ASA) and Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI).
Brian BarryKey Account Manager | Chryso-GCPBrian is the Key Account Manager for Chryso-GCP. Prior to entering the admixture industry, he was the Technical Service Engineer for Holcim, where he specialized in mix design & optimization, process control, and troubleshooting issues for the ready mix and precast industry throughout the Northeast. He has 40 years in the industry in both ready mix and cement production and has assisted countless contractors, owners, engineers, and others with concrete related issues and has been involved with projects such as the Zakim Bridge, Pulaski Skyway Rehabilitation, Penobscot Narrows Bridge, I-91 Brattleboro Bridge, and The Tappan Zee.
Brian holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and several ACI & NRMCA certifications including Level 3 Technologist. He is also the instructor for several ACI courses for Northern New England Concrete Association and has received several nominations & awards for his promotional work from the Portland Cement Association. He is currently Chairman of the Massachusetts Aggregate & Concrete Promotional Association’s Technical Committee and Treasurer for ACI-New England.
