TOPIC: Restoration Cost Estimating: Round Table Discussion
SCHEDULE: 5:30 p.m. Networking & Cocktails | 6:00 p.m. Buffet Dinner | 6:30 p.m. Presentation
LOCATION: Granite Links, 100 Quarry Hills Dr., Quincy MA
OVERVIEW:
Estimating restoration work is nothing like estimating new construction. You’re pricing off incomplete drawings, figuring out complex access and sequencing, dealing with occupied buildings, guessing at what’s behind the facade, and hoping the drawings and specs cover what you actually find when you open the wall. They usually don’t.
This panel brings together practicing engineers/consultants and contractor estimators for a frank and honest discussion about why restoration estimates often go sideways, due to unforeseen conditions, drawing omissions, scope gaps, and the everyday friction between what gets designed and what gets built.
You can expect a candid conversation about what engineers do that drives contractors crazy, and what contractors do that drives engineers crazy.
Register now and come ready to participate. This roundtable should spark some great discussion and insights!
