DESCRIPTION:Our Dinner Presentation on Monday\, September 8\, 2025\, a joint event produced by ICRI-NE and ACI-NE\, will feature two local industry experts who will share their deep knowledge and insights regarding the appropriate materials\, techniques and processes for effective concrete admixtures.  Don’t miss this opportunity to learn directly from practicing professionals and ask questions about incorporating concrete admixtures into your projects for successful results. \nOVERVIEW:  The rapid evolution of chemical admixtures is bringing new opportunities and new challenges to the concrete marketplace through our ability to modify and enhance the plastic and hardened properties of concrete. Admixtures have evolved from simple air entrainers and water reducers to now include corrosion inhibitors\, shrinkage reducers\, waterproofers\, and even ASR-mitigators. As the industry incorporates and adapts to these admixtures and the ever-evolving cement market\, navigating this new landscape can seem like it requires studying chemistry\, physics\, and even a little bit of alchemy. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:  In this session\, we will explore the common types of chemical admixtures\, including their benefits and limitations for plastic and hardened properties\, how they should be used\, and how they work.
